GCS Superintendent recommends the closure of Northside Elementary School

The GHSA has ruled in the altercation after Cairo-Westover basketball game. Cairo High School has been fined $500 and must forfeit the Bainbridge game this Friday night. In addition, the boy's basketball team will be placed on "Severe Warning Status" for one calendar year. It is the understanding of Grady County Schools that Westover High School received the same penalties from the GHSA. It appears Cairo will remain the number one seed in region 1-AAAA. In light of the forfeit of the Bainbridge game, Friday night's boy's game has been canceled. The girl's game with Bainbridge will be played a scheduled at 6pm Friday night. Senior boys and girls will be recognized before the Cairo-Bainbridge Girl's game Friday night at 6:00pm.
