Maintenance Activity

The Grady County School Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance of all existing facilities owned by the Board of Education.  This includes all buildings at the seven schools, (five in town, and two outside of town), as well as four buildings occupied by support personnel.  School Nutrition Program, (SNP), is also serviced by the maintenance department.

Achievement -- Studies indicate that student achievement is linked with building quality.  High student achievement has been shown to be associated with newer buildings, updated and properly maintained buildings, improved lighting, thermal comfort and indoor air quality.  ( Walls Speak:  The Interplay of Quality Facilities, School Climate and Student Achievement, 2006)
